Sorry for the lack of updatage. I’ve just moved, and I’m in the process of unpacking. I need to see how much of my stuff got damaged in the move. I’ll be back shortly. In the mean time: www.twitter.com/lugarza

Hello again everyone. I’m sure you’ll pleased to hear that now, not only have I accomplished nothing, I’m also a failure. This weekend I completed my first custom (If you can call it that). I’ve tested out different methods and paints on other vinyl figures, but this is the first time I stuck with it and finished one.
It’s quite obvious I have no idea what I’m doing. At least I learned quite a bit about painting on 3 dimensional things. This first post will describe some of the things that are wrong with this custom.
7 CommentsOne of the things I was hoping to achieve with this blog was to help walk my readers through what it’s like for someone who has no idea how to make toys(me)….to make toys. So this will basically turn in to a blog about my various failures at toy-making; and hopefully this will serve to help anyone else out there who wants to make toys and advise them on what NOT to do. Eventually, amongst all the sculpting, painting and mold-making fiascos, I’ll come up with some products I can be proud of. (thats the plan anyway)
I started working on these idea’s before this blog’s birth, so I wanted to start of this series with a quick recap of what I have so far.

Just drove back from Laredo, TX, the town where I grew up, and during the 3 and a half hour drive I had a lot of time to think about some big changes I’m making with my life soon. I also had a chance to get sexually harassed. I got pulled over for going five over (ridiculous I know, I guess the State Trooper was just bored).
Anyway, I got asked to step out of the car, (on a pitch black, no-car-in-sight road). The officer says to me “Lift up your shirt” followed by “turn around” and a flashlight shone on my backside. I felt more than a bit uncomfortable…but I’m not a very attractive gentlemen so I don’t know what was up. He claimed to be checking for weapons (wanted to see my pistol no doubt) and I agreed to let him search my car. I guess I look like a bit of a stoner. Anyway, I let him search for fear of being asked to remove any more articles of clothing.
OK ok, so none of this has anything to do with Zumbies (not to mention the acute homosexual undertones) so I’m going to cut my rant off right there. I just wanted to mention really quickly that I’ve decided to follow the flock and try out this
Muxtape thing everyone keeps talking about. I don’t have a lot of music on my laptop, but It does contain some stuff I’ve been into lately. Check it out at
lugarza.muxtape.com
(edit: Muxtape isn’t cooperating, I only got four tracks up so i’ll finish this tomorrow. It’s getting late)
Thanks for reading, I’ll be back with real news or artwork soon…
